Remington 742 Serial Number Lookup

REMINGTON DATES OF MANUFACTURE For Remington guns made 1921-1972 only. We have no data for Remingtons made at other times. A two or three letter code on the left side of the barrel identifies the month and year of manufacture. The first letter identifes the month, the other letter(s) identify the year. Look up a Remington serial number by using Remington Serial Number Lookup. This service uses the two-letter codes stamped on the barrel of Remington rifles and shotguns to determine the age of the firearm. You can also locate the serial number on the rifle's receiver and request an age approximation by emailing Remington support. I have a 742 Woodsmaster with a four digit serial number. I called Remington to inquire about the date the rifle was manufactured. The young lady told me that there was not a four digit number. She said they started with a five digit number, and couldn't explain why I had four digits. My question, does anyone have a four digit numbered 742?

When was my rifle made?

After 1921, Remington employed a “date code” system which consists of a series of letters identifying the month and year of manufacture. This date code is typically 2-3 letters hand stamped on the jacket head (refer to the photograph below for location). The first letter in the code represents the month, the second (and sometimes third) letter represents the year. It is not uncommon for these letters to be stamped sideways.

When a rifle was returned to Remington for a repair, the factory would stamp a repair code. These codes read the same as the date code, but were followed by a “3”. It is not uncommon to find the “3” stamped backwards. For those rifles manufactured prior to 1921, rifles not found with a date code, or rifles found with ONLY a repair code, these will be dated best by using the serial number list at the bottom of the page.

Garudius 95. Description At first glance, one would think that Garudius '95 is undoubtedly a part of Konami's venerated Gradius series. Indeed, it is based off of the arcade version of Gradius III, and uses much of the graphics and music from that title. All of the signature weapons, like the laser, ripple, twin shot, and even the options, are present. Garudius '95 is a Gradius dōjin game made by CO2 for the PC-98. It is in the style of Gradius III as it has the same music and has weapon selection, but is a drastically different game featuring different levels and weapons. This game is also (possibly) the sequel to Gradius '93. Title: Garudius 95 Company: CO2-PRO. Compressed Size: 1.26 MB Image Format: 1 HDI file Game Type: Action. Sub-Tags: Shoot-'em-up. Adult Content: None. A rather obvious rip of the Gradius series of games, it features an almost-identical combat system, but different levels. In the Device/Sound menu, set it to PC-9801-26K or Garudius '95 will not load and display an error, the title also does not display correctly but the game runs fine. To play start the Anex86 or Neko Project II emulator and attached the HD image as hard disk 1 and then press START.
